Who decided that St.Patrick’s was such a special saint? And why do we wear green in honor of his day? And what is corned beef and hash anyway? It’s not like we get the day off from work or school.
I guess I could Wikipedia the subject and find out more information but due to my lack of understanding on the subject I do not think I will be researching St.Patrick’s day today. All I know is I turned on the news this morning and saw a politician sporting an obnoxiously bright green tie. I guess he doesn’t want to get pinched by his constituents. Do people still do that at his age?
I remember in grade school if your parents forgot to tell you it was St.Patrick’s day or you didn’t own anything green but a sweatshirt than you’d be hot all day long. Or you’d really wish you hadn’t come to school that day until everyone reminded you that you weren’t wearing anything with green on it.
Today I do celebrate by eating corn beef and hash. But still I’m not sure what I’m celebrating. If someone could fill me in on what I’m missing out on that would be great! Either way happy St.Patrick’s day. Here’s to the pubs being full and people drinking green drinks and ale. Drive safely.
